Photographic exhibition with images taken by amazon communities continues

A different vision of the indigenous peoples, through the photographic exhibition "Ojos de la Amazonia", continues to be shown to the public in the art room of PETROPERU, Av. Canaval Moreyra 150, San Isidro. The exhibition will remain open to the public until June 22. Admission is completely free.

The exhibition collects the photography workshops held with the participation of the Nueva Musa Candashi and Kigkis communities in Loreto. Here the customs, experiences, traditions and daily activities of the Amazonian peoples are reflected in images made by themselves.

These testimonies relate the emotions of their protagonists, through their own compositions, to represent scenes of indigenous life. This project was undertaken as part of the social vision, summarized in the slogan "The path we want", a strategy that has been developed to strengthen relations with the communities neighboring PETROPERU operations.

There were 111 settlers who, thanks to the support of their apus, undertook this adventure to leave a visual testimony of their relationship with nature, representing what for them means the forest, the rivers, the sky, the soil, and giving them their true value and respect, as an essential part of your life.

From children of five years to adults of 70 were the students and the protagonists of the images they took while they participated in the photography workshop carried out by the association Ojos Propios, in November of 2017, commissioned by PETROPERU. This first approach of the indigenous communities with photography allows the recognition that our Amazonian people deserve and respect for their ancestral culture and traditions.
