PETROPERÚ will train artisan fishermen of Talara
PETROPERÚ exposed to the Guild of Artisanal Fishermen of the port of San Pedro the scope of the workshop "Improvement of the means of work and professionalization of the fishing activity" which will strengthen integrally, artisanal fishing in the district of Pariñas.
Ángel Ramírez, president of the Artisanal Fishermen's Guild of San Pedro was present at the presentation meeting of the project; Simone Pisu, marine biologist at the Center for Social Systems Studies - CESSO, as well as representatives from PETROPERU.
The workshop will consist of a three-month training in marine safety, maintenance of sailing boats and two certifications in International Maritime Organization-IMO courses for 50 fishing leaders, who in turn will be responsible for replicating it with more than 1,500 members.
This first workshop is part of a sustainable project that PETROPERU will carry out and that seeks to improve working conditions and profitability of artisanal fishermen from Talara.
It is worth mentioning that this initiative is carried out in line with the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan, the Environmental Impact Study, and the Talara Refinery Modernization Project to strengthen productive and fair trade activities with an important and representative interest group. from the province.
