PETROPERÚ will supply aviation fuel to its customers normally

In the face of versions about the shortage of aviation fuel due to the closure of ports caused by abnormal waves, PETROPERÚ addresses the public opinion to inform the following:

  1. PETROPERÚ has been implementing concrete actions to guarantee supply to its customers. In the specific case of Aviation fuel (Turbo A-1), PETROPERÚ will be able to supply its customers normally.
  2. The aforementioned was reported within the framework of a coordination meeting held at the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) in which other companies that supply the Aviation sector market, such as Repsol and Valero Peru, as well as authorities from the General Directorate also participated. Captaincy and Coast Guard (DICAPI) and Osinergmin.
  3. As a result of this meeting, PETROPERÚ has managed direct purchases from the companies Repsol and Valero Perú, which will allow it to have the necessary stock of Turbo A-1 at the Jorge Chávez Airport and thus guarantee the supply to its customers in the Aviation sector for next few days, meeting the usual demand.
  4. Likewise, it is important to point out that PETROPERÚ has an inventory of Turbo A-1 at the Talara Refinery (118,000 barrels), of which 44,000 barrels are already in transit to Callao, after the recent reopening of the Talara Liquid Cargo by DICAPI (July 19 at 2:00 p.m.). This product will allow us to continue supplying airlines during the holidays and beyond.
  5. It should be remembered that in recent weeks fuel unloading was affected by port closures, including the Talara Liquid Loading Dock, as a result of abnormal waves that occurred on our coastline, so it was not possible to carry out opportunely the existing Aviation fuel load in the Talara Refinery to be transferred to Callao, a situation that has already been overcome as mentioned in the preceding paragraph. In this sense, it is important to point out that PETROPERÚ has had available inventories of Turbo A-1.
  6. In the same way, on July 27, PETROPERU will have 200,000 barrels of Aviation fuel to supply its customers, coming from an import already contracted by the Company.
  7. As reported by PETROPERÚ, the fuel supplied to the airlines at the Jorge Chávez Airport is only 19% (estimated at 2.5 thousand barrels per day). The remaining 81% corresponds to other producing and importing companies.
  8. In relation to the supply of vehicular LPG, PETROPERÚ states that it only has a 10% share at the wholesale level, so it is not the main national producer and supplier of this fuel, as some media outlets point out.
  9. PETROPERÚ reiterates that its priority is to supply the demand for fuels throughout the country and implement action plans to guarantee attention to its clients and, consequently, to citizens.
