PETROPERU will meet with representatives in the civil society of Talara
As part of the communication and citizen participation activities of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), PETROPERU will meet with the representatives of the civil society of the oil city.
The informative meeting will be held on Thursday, July 5, starting at 11:00 am, at the Petroperu Social Club. This meeting is part of the commitments of the Community Relations Plan (PRC) of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the PMRT.
At this meeting, representatives of organized civil society will be invited, among which are the neighborhood councils, guilds and representative institutions of the community.
At the meeting, PETROPERU will report on the progress of the PMRT, as well as the implementation of strategies that guarantee a better management of the hiring of local labor. Also participating in the appointment, a representative of Cobra, a consortium that will be in charge of the construction of auxiliary units of the PMRT.
As it is remembered, the Cobra Consortium is currently carrying out the detailed engineering work, with a view to starting the construction phase in September. It should be noted that the construction of the auxiliary units is a complementary project that will provide resources such as water, steam production and electric power to the new Talara Refinery.
Since the beginning of the construction of the PMRT in May 2014, PETROPERU has strictly complied with the EIA of this mega project, including in terms of hiring local unqualified personnel. In this sense, the project has exceeded the established percentage of 70%, a commitment that will continue during the construction of auxiliary units and complementary works.
