In order to strengthen actions in the face of the health emergency, PETROPERÚ, in coordination with the Regional Health Directorate of Loreto, has been accelerating the process that will make it possible to provide a modern medicinal oxygen plant and 30 oxygen cylinders of 10 m3 to the Health Network from Datem del Marañón.

This modern plant -which meets international standards- will be implemented in the town of Saramiriza, capital of the Manseriche district, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. With this, the state oil company joins the effort of the health system to contain the second wave of the health pandemic, allowing it to provide attention to the needs of the inhabitants of the localities and native communities located in the area of influence of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP). This plant is scheduled to operate 24 hours a day.

The delivery of the plant, as well as the oxygen cylinders, is scheduled for the second week of February. In this sense, the Regional Health Directorate (DIRESA) Loreto has been preparing the property for the assembly of the plant; as well as, coordinating the provision of trained personnel for its operation. PETROPERU's total investment for this plant amounts to S/. 1’565.827 and is part of the actions developed in compliance with its Social Management Policy.

It should be noted that the donation of this plant will allow to serve the population of native communities that present moderate or severe COVID-19 symptoms with respiratory failure. According to the Situation Chamber of MINSA, the Loreto region has more than 27 thousand positive cases to date.

As it will be recalled, in the same vein, the state oil company specified in November 2020 the donation of the Modular Hospital for the universal care of COVI-19 patients in the province of Talara and which has been managed by ESSALUD, and also contributed with more than 5,000 detection tests and thousands of biosafety implements.

Likewise, PETROPERU at the beginning of the quarantine supported thousands of low-income families with baskets of non-perishable food in its different operations. This set of actions has been adding to the efforts of our country in the fight against the pandemic.
