Petroperú will carry out internal inspection of the North Peruvian Pipeline

Petroperú began a new internal inspection program of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), as part of the activities carried out to maintain the hydrocarbon transportation service in optimum safety and reliability conditions, under the responsibility of the company LIN SCAN of the United Arab Emirates Joined.

This is the internal inspection of the 16, 24 and 36-inch pipes of the Northern Branch (ORN), Sections I and II of the ONP respectively, which will be carried out by this company specialized in inspections and pipeline integrity, using high-tech tools and latest generation necessary to characterize the smallest anomalies (pinholes) and cracks in the pipe that cannot be detected by conventional tools.

The LIN SCAN firm presented the detailed work plan at the Petroperú offices, where they explained the application of the five advanced technologies that will help characterize the internal and external anomalies that could affect the integrity of the pipeline, such as: surges caused by forces of nature, cracks in aggressive environments (Stress Corrosion Cracking - SCC), pinholes and deformations.
