Petroperú will carry out an emergency response drill in Talara
As part of the process of progressive and safe start-up of the New Talara Refinery (NRT), Petroperú will carry out its so-called emergency response drill, with the aim of testing its capacity to deal with possible incidents and accidents in its modern industrial facilities.
The day, to be held on Tuesday 28 from 11 in the morning, will begin with the simulation of a fire in the spherical tanks of the refinery, which will require the evacuation of all its workers, in accordance with the emergency plan of the NRT.
The Talara Port Authority, the Peruvian National Police and the Provincial Municipality of Talara will participate in this practice, which will contribute to strengthening Petroperú's continuous improvement process.
Simultaneously, at the beginning and at the end of the drill, the corresponding sound of the siren will be played, for which the population is requested not to be alarmed.
In this way, the State company reaffirms its commitment to maintain the highest security standards both inside and around the NRT, activating the protocols that seek to safeguard the material and human resources that Petroperú has; as well as how to proceed to deal effectively with any emergency, minimizing possible damage to people, facilities and the environment.
Petroperú maintains permanent communication with the population of Talara, through its official channels, as well as the Office of Information and Citizen Participation (OIPC) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project.
