Petroperú will begin works on the new Captaincy of the Port of Talara

Petroperú and the Peruvian Navy participated in the laying of the first stone for the construction of the new premises of the Captaincy of Puerto de Talara, as part of an agreement between both institutions to carry out an exchange for an area of 8,800 square meters of land owned by the state oil company.

The construction will be in charge of the firm U-Perú Living Conditions S.A.C.-UPLC-, a Peruvian company with extensive experience in engineering and civil construction. The period stipulated for its delivery will be 10 months.

The modern premises include a four-story building, a maintenance workshop, a logistics storeroom, a coast guard archive, an electrical substation, parking lots, a maneuvering yard, a flag yard, a sports field; as well as perimeter fence, towers, gates, sidewalks and internal tracks.

It is important to specify that it will have a pluvial system that will ensure the evacuation of water from the rains that fall inside the facilities. In addition, the building has been designed based on the national construction standard and other current national and international standards.

The members of the Petroperú board of directors, Pedro Méndez and Artemio Reátegui participated in the ceremony; its general manager, Cristina Fung and the corporate manager of the Talara Refinery, Gaspar Díaz. On behalf of the Peruvian Navy, Vice Admiral César Colunge, General Director of Captaincies and Coast Guard, and Rear Admiral César Del Álamo, Chief of Captaincy District No. 1, among other representatives, participated.

Visit to the New Talara Refinery

As part of this symbolic act, the highest representative of the country's Captaincies and Coast Guards, along with other representatives of the Peruvian Navy, visited the modern facilities of the New Talara Refinery, highlighting the level of modernity, technology and safety and the quality of its fuels, highlighting Petroperú's commitment to the production of friendly fuels that guarantee energy security to promote the social and economic growth of the country.

The new refinery is in its final start-up stage, executing the maneuvers in the plants that will generate the profitability of the project, such as the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit and the Flexicoking Unit.

At the same time, diesel and other fuels of the highest quality have been produced, contributing to the financial sustainability of the Company and the economic development of the country.
