PETROPERU will be present at “Hay Festival Arequipa”
- Winners of Copé Awards will be present at the conference
Everything is getting ready for the next edition of the “Hay Festival Arequipa”, which highlights the arts and sciences through a series of events that seek to revalue and disseminate literature and other cultural expressions, promoting dialogue, education and the development.
PETROPERU aware that the exchanges of experiences between young writers and those with experience are very enriching, adds to this important cultural day and will be one of its main sponsors. On this occasion, the renowned writer Stuart Flores and the philosopher and essayist Ciro Alegría Varona, both winners of the Copé Awards, have already confirmed their participation and will present the works that led them to obtain the highest award that the state oil company awards annually to National writers
On the opening day, on November 7, Michel Wieviorka and Nelson Vallejo Gómez will participate in the presentation of “Adagios, crítica del presente desde una ciencia melancólica”, by Ciro Alegría Varona, winner of the Gold Cope of the VI Biennial of Essay, whose work shows philosophical reflections about 43 colloquial phrases analyzed from an ethic marked by disenchantment with contemporaneity.
That same day, Johann Page and Mabel Cáceres will analyze the work “La Piel Fria”, by Stuart Flores, winner of the Cope Gold Award of the XX Biennial of Short Story.
It should be noted that in this new “Hay Arequipa Festival” the Nobel Prize for Literature, Orhan Pamuk, will participate as a guest of honor; while the Spanish journalist and writer Almudena Grandes, as well as the Peruvian poet Giovanna Pollarolo are also part of the list of guests present at the event.
