More than 60 PETROPERU volunteers were present at the facilities of the Carlos Vivanco Mauricio II Health Center to lead a day of cleaning their exteriors and thus be able to deliver a new face towards the community.

PETROPERU volunteering is part of the social projection actions of the state company and is made up of workers and family members who organize selflessly to participate in activities for the benefit of the province and its most vulnerable residents. Thus, knowing the need of the health center, the volunteers led a day of more than four hours of efficient work, managing to remove clearing, weeds, organic and inorganic, biosanitary (such as gauze) and pharmaceutical (medicine packaging) wastes among others, that had accumulated throughout its perimeter over time.

However, this effort will be really valuable if what is achieved is maintained thanks to the commitment of the neighbors. “I thank each of the volunteers for their important support in the exterior cleaning of our health facility. I call on the neighbors to adopt an active, formative and vigilant role, avoiding throwing up any waste, or realizing their physiological needs within the enclosure,” said Hugo Albán, Chief Physician of the Talara Health Center.

The work of the team of volunteers is part of the immediate actions that the oil company will carry out for the benefit of the health establishment and that will also include medium and long-term interventions such as the arborization of more than 4500 m², the painting of its façade and perimeter fence and the donation for its rehabilitation and equipment. "PETROPERU, through its corporate volunteering, wants to invite the local population to add to the change, being part of initiatives to have a clean city through more sensitive and aware neighbors in which the decoration and cleanliness starts from a sincere commitment" said Jorge Alméstar, Manager of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project.

PETROPERU volunteers will always be willing to offer their time in a selfless and altruistic way, joining efforts to work for the benefit of our community, showing their commitment to the environment and the development of Talara.
