Petroperú formally took over the operation of Lot Z-69 located in the continental shelf, in front of the Piuran provinces of Talara, Paita and Sechura, early this Thursday morning, after the signing of the license contract for its exploitation, authorized by the Executive through Supreme Decree 027-2023-EM.

As part of the transfer process, a group of Petroperú workers received the facilities and infrastructure of Lot Z-69, an activity in which Perupetro personnel participated, in their capacity as in charge of signing and supervising contracts for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons. in the country.

The temporary license contract signed between Perupetro and Petroperú is valid for two years or until the effective date of a new contract for the exploitation of hydrocarbons, whichever occurs first.

Currently, Lot Z-69 has a production of 4,700 barrels of oil per day on average and 13.8 million standard cubic feet (MMPCD) per day of natural gas.

It should be noted that Petroperú has committed to increasing said production, thus generating greater job opportunities for the north of the country, operating in strict compliance with the license contract and with social and environmental responsibility.

According to the contract, Lot Z-69 will have a Social Development Fund, intended for the execution of projects that directly benefit the population located in the area of influence.

In this way, the state oil company reinforces its return to oil and gas production activities, consolidating its vertical integration process and ensuring its sustainability for the benefit of the country.

It is important to mention that the State oil company has an experienced engineering and production operations management service to continue working optimally in Lot Z-69, which includes more than 70 marine platforms.

Likewise, to guarantee a safe operation, Petroperú has the oil and maritime services companies that were already working on said lot, as well as the field operational personnel.

Optimum production

Petroperú has maintained optimal and sustained production in Lot I since December 2021 and in Lot VI since last October, both located in the northwest of the country. The oil production from these lots is destined for the New Talara Refinery to obtain quality fuels.

The lots located in the northwest of the country have supplied the modern Petroperú refining complex since their creation and are ongoing businesses, whose maintenance and optimization are financed from the income generated by their operation, now in charge of the State company.

Petroperú has maintained optimal and sustained production in Lot I since December 2021 and in Lot VI since last October, both located in the northwest of the country. The oil production from these lots is destined for the New Talara Refinery to obtain quality fuels.

The lots located in the northwest of the country have supplied the modern Petroperú refining complex since their creation and are ongoing businesses, whose maintenance and optimization are financed from the income generated by their operation, now in charge of the State company.
