PETROPERU takes immediate action after detecting oil outcrop in Olmos
PETROPERU addresses public opinion to report the following:
- On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 8, an outcrop of crude oil was learned at Km 713 + 197, Section II of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), jurisdiction of the Sequión town of the Olmos district, Lambayeque region.
- PETROPERU immediately activated the Contingency Plan, closed the valves and sent crews of personnel to the area to attend to this incident, also contemplating the protocol foreseen for the health emergency that is currently being faced.
- It is worth mentioning that the pumping of crude in Section II of the ONP has been in a scheduled stop since September 5, 2020.
- PETROPERU has proceeded to inform the supervisory bodies of the fact and has initiated the corresponding investigations to determine the causes of the incident.
