PETROPERÚ supports the creation of riverside defenses in a native community of the jungle

As part of its Social Management actions, which contribute to improving the living conditions of the communities in the areas of influence of its operations, PETROPERÚ provided financial support to the Municipality of Manseriche, to update the technical file of the project Creation of Riverine Defenses from the Marañón River, benefiting the Miraflores and San Juan neighborhoods, vulnerable to flooding.

These neighborhoods of the Saramiriza Population Center are located on the right bank of the Marañón River and do not have bank protection works, which means that their inhabitants live with the permanent threat of being impacted by the river, affecting their homes and infrastructure. public, located in the northern, central and southern sectors of the town.

This contribution as social support from PETROPERÚ to the Municipality of Manseriche, Datem del Marañón province, in the Loreto region, for the amount of S/ 150,000.00, includes the construction of riverside defenses through five breakwaters, the protection of slopes with metal mesh, cleaning and dredging of the riverbed in a length of 1600 linear meters, which will improve the security of the population, their homes, infrastructure and their living conditions, with adequate protection structures.

In this way, the state company contributes to the development of communities surrounding the North Peruvian Pipeline - ONP, as indicated in its Social Management Policy.
