PETROPERU supports the containment of crude oil after an emergence in an abandoned well in Loreto

In coordination with the competent authorities, PETROPERU has sent a technical team to provide support for the containment of an emergence of oil near the town of Miraflores, in the district of Nauta, province and department of Loreto.

In that town, it was reported that a well abandoned many years ago by the Texas Petroleum company would have been unblocked for reasons not yet determined, producing a hydrocarbon leak that could be impacting the Marañón River.

Immediately, to provide the corresponding support, PETROPERU organized the departure of technical brigades equipped with equipment and oleophilic barriers designed to contain the crude oil in the area.

The equipment was moved from Selva Refinery and Station 1 by land and river.

PETROPERU reaffirms its commitment and permanent support to the care of the environment.
