PETROPERU supports prevention of addictions in schoolchildren of Villa el Salvador
A group of parents and teachers of the Educational Institution 7236 Max Uhle of Villa El Salvador, near the Conchán Refinery, were trained in an issue that increasingly affects our society: addictions to narcotics, such as marijuana and the cocaine.
The talks, which were given at the study center by psychologist Carlos Ugaz Barbarán, focused on the risks to which the student population is commonly exposed and how to ensure that parents and teachers can recognize the use of these substances in young people , as well as the way to guide them to avoid their consumption.
To the above, prevention was added to another type of addiction that is also affecting children and young people with great intensity, the excessive use of the Internet and social networks. In this regard the specialist noted that it is the duty of parents and teachers to be alert to this issue, because on the web there are also potential risks that are often underestimated, and usually become major dangers.
With these awareness talks, PETROPERU contributes to provide useful information for the benefit of students, teachers and their families. It is also part of the Company's commitment to support education and improve the quality of life in the communities neighboring its operations.
