PETROPERÚ supports academic reinforcement of students from Andoas, Loreto
PETROPERU, in compliance with the commitment made with eighteen communities of the Andoas district, began the implementation of the Academic Leveling and Reinforcement Program for students in 4th and 5th grades of Secondary School, so that they have better possibilities of accessing the benefits of the Beca 18 Program.
During the first stage of the Program, the diagnosis and academic evaluation of 150 fourth and fifth year secondary school students will be carried out, as well as 2017 and 2018 graduates of six (6) prioritized Educational Institutions of eighteen communities in the Andoas district.
This evaluation seeks to measure the educational gaps between said population and considers the Mathematics and Communication subjects. At the end of the test, a vocational test is applied that allows the young person to identify their preferences in professional careers.
In this first stage there was the accompaniment of the Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientaie, which, together with PETROPERU, has carried out visits and awareness workshops to parents, as well as to directors, teachers, students, authorities and members of the associations of parents of the prioritized schools.
This work will allow to have relevant information for the design of courses or subjects that the Program requires, and thus establish the guidelines and implementation of the second stage.
With this, PETROPERU seeks that young people can shorten the educational gaps identified and have greater possibilities to apply for scholarships granted by the State or other institutions to access higher education.
This activity is carried out within the framework of the Social Management Plan of the Company, whose purpose is to support the training of our stakeholders to generate and take advantage of new opportunities for their development and progress.
