PETROPERÚ supervises the progress of the Fuel Sales Plant in Ilo
The General Manager of PETROPERU, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, made a work visit to Ilo, where he inspected the progress in the construction of the new Fuel Sales Plant, met with Mayor Gerardo Carpio and participated in the Christmas activity organized by the Company for the children of this Moquegua port.
During the tour, the senior official verified the situation of the facilities and confirmed the prompt revival of construction work, scheduled for the second quarter of next year. The project has an advance of 40.91% and once again the state oil company maintains its commitment to the Ilo population for the hiring of local labor - through contractors - when the works are resumed.
When the work is finished, the new plant will be able to store around 180 thousand barrels of diesel and dispatch diesel B5, diesel 2E, gasohol 84, gasohol 90 and gasohol 95. It will have a capacity of 293 thousand barrels of fuels and will have 17 tanks, which will be installed in two stages. This will allow to satisfactorily meet the current and projected demand for liquid fuels for the Moquegua and Tacna regions, with a projection to meet the demand of the Puno and Madre de Dios regions.
Subsequently, and always reinforcing the links of PETROPERU with the local authorities, the General Manager met with the mayor of Ilo, Gerardo Carpio, who was informed about the progress of the project and the next works to be carried out, within the framework of the Plan Social Management 2020; those that include the paving of Jr. Argentina, the delivery of school kits –programmed for next March– and the realization of a health campaign, prioritizing attention in children in the area. Likewise, the Company's participation in commemorative activities was agreed for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the port of Ilo.
The mayor showed his satisfaction with the push and determination with which PETROPERU has been working in the city and, in that sense, asked to work hand in hand, in a planned way, to achieve the integral development of the port of Ilo.
Finally, Barrientos Gonzales participated in the traditional chocolate and delivery of toys to children and villagers who gathered at the Mariscal Nieto stadium.
