Petroperú successfully completed maintenance of the loading arms of the Bayóvar Terminal

In order to guarantee an efficient and safe service during oil loading and unloading operations, Petroperú successfully completed the Maintenance Master Plan for the four loading arms, which are part of the facilities of the maritime dock of Bayóvar Terminal of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), located in the province of Sechura, in Piura.

The proper functioning of these mechanical structures allows the loading and unloading of crude oil to tankers with high reliability and safety. Likewise, it complements the port activities of Bayóvar Terminal, a facility specialized in the handling of liquid hydrocarbons for national and international commercialization through the use of cabotage vessels.

Bayóvar is the final station of the ONP and presents a sea with low waves and very rarely a port closure occurs. For this reason, it is an important support in the storage of crude oil from the Conchán and Talara refineries when these natural phenomena occur at sea. To date, imported (Napo) and national (ONO) crude has been stored to guarantee the operational continuity of the Conchán Refinery and provide the supply of raw material for the final stage of the start-up and stabilization process of the New Talara Refinery.

In this sense, maintenance work at its facilities, such as those carried out on the loading arms under internationally recognized and accepted standards in the oil industry following applicable national legislation, are of the utmost importance for the supply of hydrocarbons.

The works included preliminary operational tests of the arms and the firefighting, electrical and hydraulic systems, for which these structures weighing more than 40 tons were carefully dismantled. The evaluation of its components was also carried out, some of which were replaced.

In this way, Petroperú rigorously complies with the maintenance programs for its equipment at the facilities of all its operations, following current regulations that guarantee optimal and safe work in loading and unloading crude oil.
