PETROPERU strenthengs help to regional and local governments of the Amazon region
The Board Director of PETROPERU had held work meetings with the regional and local authorities of the areas affected by the environmental incidents of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline (POP).
Along with the governor of the Amazon region, Gilmer Wilson Horna Corrales, the company had agreed to coordinate actions between the technical equipments from both institutions to fasten the distribution and the provision of supplies to the surrounding communities at the 440 Km of the POP. As well as providing preventive medical assistance and taking actions on the full restoration of the affected areas for the sake of the communities.
Enrique Rivera Perez, mayor of Manseriche, one of the districts located in the province of Datem del Marañon, region of Loreto, and the company have determined as important action the participation of PETROPERU in the extension of the road infrastructure of the district, the donation of transport materials and equipments and the help on the coordination with other part of the country to assist the primary necessities of the community.
Following the same work objectives, the local and regional authorities, Benjamin Tunki Tsapau, Mayor of Morona and the company have agreed to hire local workers for clearing the vegetation off of the surrounding areas of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline and to build water wells and fish farms in the communities that request them. Likewise, it was ratified that PETROPERU will continue providing medical assistance and supplies and water to the families affected by the incident at the 206 Km of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline.
In every meeting, it was ratified the compromise that PETROPERU has with the preservation of the environment and the 24 hour work shift to repair and restore the incident in a short time period. As well as the continuos help to the community by providing supplies, water and medical assistance.
