The start of a Leadership and Training Program for formalization and access to public resources allowed, this morning, was the opportunity for a productive meeting between PETROPERU and representatives of 15 communities adjacent to the Nor Peruano Pipeline (ONP), in Loreto and Amazonas, with whom the Oil company seeks to strengthen its ties and strengthen ties, through a series of actions to benefit the Awajún-Wampis population, considered the second largest town in our Amazon.

During the day, the Chairman of the Board of PETROPERU, James Atkins Lerggios, said that these actions are part of the various activities that the Company has with the communities adjacent to the ONP. "PETROPERU has a lot to offer and we will work hand in hand with our communities, because we are and will continue to be the number one company in the country," he said.

Francisco Shajian, president of the Nacion Awajun-Wampis association, who participates as observer of the program that PETROPERU directly implements with 15 CCNNs adjacent to the ONP, and who was in the presentation, expressed his gratitude, on behalf of his people, and stated that both he and other leaders of that community are respectful of the agreements reached. "We look for the unity for the development and that we have found understanding with PETROPERU, to which we thank for the constant training. Being here is a good step because it is evident that there is willingness to dialogue and willingness to continue working for the welfare of the native communities," he said.

It should be noted that among the actions to be taken is the strengthening of their cultural identity, support in the delimitation and formalization of 15 communities adjacent to the ONP and the design and execution of leadership programs and identification of productive opportunities for locations near Section II of the Pipeline that can be financed by the State.
