PETROPERU strengthens the public management of municipalities of Loreto and Amazonas
As part of its work to coordinate the communities and the State, PETROPERU started the Program for Social Advocacy and Government Articulation in the spheres of influence of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP). As part of this program, which will be implemented by the Continental University commissioned by PETROPERU, capacity-building workshops will be developed in different required areas.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the mayors of the Provincial Municipality of Dátem del Marañón and the District Municipality of Urarinas, as well as representatives of the district municipalities of Imaza and Manseriche, who are part of this program that the state company developed as part of the High Impact Strategy for Social Management of the ONP, a critical national asset that plays a strategic role in the development of the country.
The benefited mayors welcomed this initiative of PETROPERU that will allow to strengthen their management, positively impacting the actions they carry out in favor of the development of their communities and the improvement of the quality of life of their inhabitants.
This coordinating function of PETROPERU is key for the development of the ONP's areas of influence since, on the one hand, it brings projects from different sectors of the State to the localities of the Jungle and, on the other hand, it trains local authorities to that can process and manage them (as is the case with this program). In this way, the state oil company facilitates the plan to close social gaps in the Amazon.
The Program for Social Advocacy and Government Articulation in the ONP's spheres of influence will allow generating the necessary synergies of actions and resources, between the three levels of government, for the benefit of social development with cultural relevance and appropriate to the local reality, achieving interventions of impact and comprehensiveness in the provision of services, from the public sector to the population.
The capacities to be strengthened through workshops and seminars will be in strategic communication and effective advocacy for the benefit of priority issues in these areas. Likewise, inter-learning sessions and exchanges of local governments will be held regarding the strategies of articulation with the regional and national levels of government to improve the coverage of basic needs by the State.
This program is developed within the framework of PETROPERU's Social Management plan, for the benefit of the communities and populations neighboring the ONP.
