PETROPERU starts project to improve solid waste disposal in Talara
Petroperu started the execution of the "Solid Waste Routes" project, in order to improve the disposal of solid waste in the Pariñas district and, in this way, contribute to the care of the environment.
The project is executed as part of the Community Relations Plan of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) and is being implemented in coordination with the Provincial Municipality of Talara and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
As part of the project, a study has been carried out to improve the solid waste management system in the Pariñas district, which includes the identification of critical points and the route plan for the efficient collection of waste throughout the Pariñas district.
As part of the investigation, sensitization talks aimed at the population are being held, so that they can join this effort to make Talara a clean and healthy city. To date, meetings have been held with the neighbors of the northern area and the surrounding areas and soon others will be held aimed at the neighbors of the southern area and the satellite city.
This project is part of the social responsibility actions of the Company, which include the financing of a study for the urban redesign of Talara, the repair of Avenue G and other roads in the city, the technical career scholarships for young Talara locals in SENATI, as well as for women and people with disabilities, among others.
