PETROPERU began the implementation of the Comprehensive Public Management Program that seeks to develop a comprehensive technical assistance service to strengthen the capacities of officials and public servants of the local governments of the Amazon, the same who are in the area of influence of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP).

To carry out this social management program, the state oil company will have the support of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and its INNOVAPUCP program, which has been designed by collecting evidence and previous experiences, developed by international cooperation with The objective of contributing to the institutional strengthening of the benefited local governments.

A multidisciplinary team of specialists in public management, will provide support and technical assistance, for eight months, to strengthen the capacities and knowledge of 80 participating public officials and servants, with which it is expected to strengthen the management of the areas of 5 municipal governments, in charge of the hiring, public investment and strategic planning processes.

During the opening day, it was attended by Adelino Rivera Pérez, Provincial Mayor of Dátem del Marañón; Abercio Akintui Shimpucat, Regidor of the Imaza District Municipality; Flavio Ausejo Castillo, Project Director representing the PUCP and Beatriz Alva Hart, PETROPERU Social Management Manager, as well as city officials from the Imaza, Urarinas and Manseriche District Municipalities, as well as the Condorcanqui Provincial Municipality.

It should be noted that the local governments benefiting from this program are the provincial municipalities of Condorcanqui and Dátem del Marañón, as well as the district municipalities of Imaza, Manseriche and Urarinas.

This activity is part of the actions that the state oil company plans to develop in the coming months in favor of strengthening provincial and district governance that deploys the high-impact strategy for the Social Management of the ONP.
