Petroperú started free medical campaigns in Talara
Petroperú began its 2022 period of free medical campaigns that will benefit more than 5,300 low-income residents of the districts of Pariñas-Talara (4,300 residents) and La Brea-Negritos (1,060 residents).
From Monday, November 28 to Thursday, December 29, residents will be able to receive specialized medical care in General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Physical Therapy and Psychology, in addition to performing laboratory tests and receiving medications, according to free diagnosis.
The health days will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., depending on the sector or district. To participate, interested neighbors must contact their Neighborhood Board presidents who will provide them with a service ticket.
This health initiative is part of the "For a better quality of life" Program led by the state oil company in line with its commitments within the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Program of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project and the Community Relations Plan of Lot I-Talara, which seek to bring specialized medical services that have an impact on prevention and improvement of the quality of health of the local population.
Investment in health
Petroperú invested a total of S/10,729,063.39 in medical campaigns, hospital infrastructure and health services, from 2017 to 2021; those that were especially important during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Between 2017 and 2019, the Company executed 13 medical campaigns with a beneficiary reach of 13,695 people in the Pariñas district, with an investment of S/1,368,492.21.
While during the health emergency due to Covid-19, Petroperú invested in Talara S/ 9,360,571.18; amount distributed in the construction and equipment of a modern Modular Hospital with a total capacity of 45 beds (30 hospitalization beds and 15 ICU beds) managed by EsSalud; as well as in the provision of protective equipment and supplies for the benefit of the medical personnel of the Talara II MINSA Health Center, the acquisition of 500 rapid tests for the detection of Covid-19, during the first wave of infections due to the pandemic and, finally, with food support for MINSA Talara personnel from April 2020 to April 2021 approximately.
