PETROPERU sponsors work of the National Culture Award Oscar Naters

As a way to reaffirm its commitment to culture, PETROPERU sponsors the presentation of "Ptyx", a performance under the direction of Oscar Naters, winner of the 2017 National Culture Award. This show, which will be free, will be presented today, for one time only, at 7.15 pm in the inner courtyard of the MALI.

With this proposal, in which Ana Zavala, Alonso Núñez and Basilio Soraluz participate, an attempt is made to represent a peculiar experience of the artist Jorge Eduardo Eielson (1921-2006) during his stay in Europe, when -as he mentioned- he felt to be living in two "equal"houses at different times of his life.

Ptyx is a narrative poetry or novel in verse, which owes its name to the Sonnet in IX of Mallarmé. The term means 'conch shell' and contains different symbolic connotations as an emblem of the void, labyrinth, symbol of rebirth and regeneration.

This staging is presented within the framework of the EIELSON exhibition, dedicated to the work of the important Peruvian artist Jorge Eduardo Eielson, which can be visited until March 4 in the temporary halls of MALI.

INTEGRO

This is a creative nucleus formed by Oscar Naters and Ana Zavala, born to incorporate transforming elements and reflection on the cosmic dimension of the human, from the exploration and interdisciplinary experimentation of media and artistic languages. INTEGRO has participated in more than 40 International Festivals, including the Cervantino International Festival, Mexico; Ibero-American Theater Festival of Cádiz, Spain; Sommertheater Festival, Hamburg, Germany; International Theater Festival of Bogotá, Colombia; Vikram Sarabhai International Arts Festival, Ahmedabad, India, and has toured in Spain, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil, Ecuador, Portugal and Holland among others.

Oscar Naters has been recognized with the National Culture Award (2017), in the Creativity category. While Íntegro has received the Aibal Director of the Year Award (2015), Iberescena Project - Ibermusica (2014), Meritorious Personality of Culture (2011), Prince Claus Foundation of Holland (2007), Darpana Academy of Performing Art Scholarship, Ahmedabad, India (2006), National Choreography Prize (1988), American Dance Festival USA Scholarship (1988) among others.
