PETROPERÚ sponsors tribute to Blanca Varela

On the tenth anniversary of her death, the poet Blanca Valera will be honored this Tuesday, March 12, at 7:30 pm, in the auditorium of the PETROPERU Cultural Center, in an event organized by the "Lima Gris" magazine and under the sponsorship of the state oil company. Admission is free.

The tribute will have the participation of the writer and journalist Rocío Silva Santisteban; Mexican artist and narrator Gabriela Olivo de Alba (Director of the Fondo de Cultura Económica); the prominent writer and journalist, Eloy Jáuregui; and the presence of her son Vicente de Szyszlo Varela; who will participate in a magisterial conference moderated by the writer Gabriel Rimachi Sialer.

As part of the program, the public will enjoy a dance-theater show that will be under the care of the Primero Lo Nuestro Cultural Association. The work combines dance, music, literature and theater.

As a finishing touch, two oil paintings with the image of Blanca Varela, works by artists Ricardo Terrones and Nico Cotrina, will be raffled off among the attendees, as well as a hand painted t-shirt by artist Mario Navarro.

The date is on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:30 pm in the PETROPERU Cultural Center Auditorium, located at Av. Canaval y Moreyra 150, San Isidro, Lima. Admission is free, but with limited capacity.
