PETROPERU sponsors concert of the National Symphony Orchestra in Iquitos
- Admission will be free, after collecting the tickets at the Decentralized Culture Directorate, the PCU and the San Agustín Cultural Center.
As part of its decentralized cultural management policy, PETROPERU sponsors a spectacular concert by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Max Agustín stadium in Iquitos. The event will be held on Saturday, September 21 and admission will be free, after picking up the tickets at the Decentralized Culture Directorate, the Scientific University of Peru and the San Agustín Cultural Center.
This concert is part of a series of presentations that will be made by the different national casts of the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the national bicentennial. It should be noted that this is the first time that a symphony orchestra has appeared in this installation with a capacity for seven thousand people; which has been specially adapted to guarantee the structural acoustic and lighting conditions that the country's first orchestra requires.
The orchestra will present works of the international classical repertoire such as the overture El Murciélago by Johann Strauss II, the Carmen de Georges Bizet symphony, reinterpreted by José Serebrier, the Rondó en Do Mayor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as popular works of the Peruvian repertoire as Vírgenes del Sol by Jorge Bravo de la Rueda, El Cóndor Pasa by Daniel Alomía Robles, La Flor de la Canela by Chabuca Granda, Marinera Trujillana by Teófilo Álvarez, among other pieces, all under a high level stage production.
Care for the environment
In coordination with the Ministry of Culture, PETROPERU supports the “Reciclatón” campaign, which invites concert goers to bring PET bottles that will be recycled with the support of local environmental organizations.
