PETROPERU sponsored congress on Julio Ramón Ribeyro
As part of its policy to support initiatives by other institutions, PETROPERÚ hosted the International Congress "The dumb speak" Homage to Julio Ramon Ribeyro, organized by the Peruvian Language Academy and the Mario Benedetti Center of Ibero American Literary Studies.
The inauguration was in charge of Dr. Marco Martos, president of the Peruvian Academy of Language and had twelve panels of panelists in the three days of the event, held between June 5 and 7 of this year. The closure was in charge of Dr. Alberto Varillas Montenegro, vice president of the Peruvian Academy of Language.
Among the researcher panelists there were several representatives of Peruvian and foreign universities like the Universidad Nacional de San Marcos, Universidad de Lima, Universidad de Piura, Unversidad Ricardo Palma, Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, Universidad San Agustin de Arequipa, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad de EAFIT de Medellín, among others.
The activity was held as part of the tributes for the 90 years of the birth of Julio Ramón Ribeyro, a Peruvian writer, considered one of the best storytellers in Latin American literature.
Thus, PETROPERU reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting cultural initiatives that revalue the literary tradition of our country, supporting activities that deepen the knowledge of famous Peruvian writers and diversify cultural activities for the benefit of students, researchers and teachers from various parts of the country.
