PETROPERÚ and the Society of Petroleum Engineers - Lima Section, hereinafter SPE Lima Section, signed an institutional collaboration agreement from which they will establish joint actions aimed at developing the active and permanent participation of women in the hydrocarbons and complementary energies sector.

The signing of the agreement was carried out virtually and was in charge of the General Manager of PETROPERÚ, Carlos Barrientos and the Past President SPE Lima Section, Ronald Egusquiza. The ceremony chaired by Eduardo Guevara Dodds, Chairman of the Board of the state company, also had the participation of Pedro Chira Fernández, President of the SPE Lima Section and Janinne Delgado Silva, President of Women in Energy (WIN), of the SPE Section Lime.

At the beginning, Eduardo Guevara welcomed the agreement, specifying that it reaffirms the commitments assumed by PETROPERÚ in its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy approved last year.

"Achieving equity is an important task in which we are very committed at PETROPERÚ, where we work to continue providing our workers, regardless of gender, the same opportunities for professional and personal development," he said. Likewise, he pointed out that the participation of companies, authorities and the population in general is what will allow to close the gender gaps and achieve a society free of discrimination.

For his part, Pedro Chira indicated that his institution is proud that a large national company such as PETROPERÚ joins this global effort and is aligned with the growth and professional development of women, which strengthens the work that through Women in Energy (WIN) have been promoting successfully for years.

Likewise, Janinne Delgado, President of WIN, reported that this alliance will benefit schoolchildren from schools in the PETROPERÚ area of influence, who will be able to participate in the WIN Vocational Orientation Fair; to the university students of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers and that are part of the Employable Young Women Program, who will be able to train in the "Dirty Hands" program and have information about job openings. practices called by the state company. Meanwhile, PETROPERÚ workers will be able to participate in the WIN Mentoring Program.

"We are on the right path and we are going to continue joining efforts to promote greater participation by women in PETROPERÚ and in this so-called tough industry," added Carlos Barrientos, General Manager of the state company.
