The program of activities began last weekend in the Olmos district in Lambayeque, with the Christmas artistic presentation, delivery of toys, chocolate and sweets to 1,305 children. In the following days, the same will be done with the minors with lower economic resources of the communities near Iquitos Refinery and the stations of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), which crosses five departments of the country.
The week between December 16 and 21, "Awakening Smiles" will bring the magic of Christmas to thousands of children living in the neighboring areas at the Talara and Conchán refineries; to the Piura, Talara, Yurimaguas, Pucallpa and Ninacaca sales plants, as well as the Salaverry, Chimbote, Etén, Callao and Mollendo terminals.
During each day full of joy, performed in coordination with local authorities, community leaders and neighborhood boards, children have fun playing and dancing entertaining songs with well-known characters from the children's world.
Since the beginning of its operations, PETROPERU has maintained a varied program of social activities in the areas of influence of its operations, as part of its commitment - established in its Social Management plan - to achieve well-being and strengthen good relations with communities, with special emphasis on these end of the year dates, in which solidarity, gratitude and hope for a better future are fostered.
