PETROPERÚ seeks to guarantee the supply of fuel to its customers

In the aviation fuel market, PETROPERÚ has a 23% share at the national level.
PETROPERÚ seeks to guarantee the supply of fuel to its customers
  1. PETROPERÚ's priority is to supply the demand for fuel throughout the country and implement action plans to guarantee service to its customers. In recent weeks, the discharge of fuels has been affected by port closures as a result of abnormal waves that occur on our coast and that the corresponding authorities have been reporting. This situation affects all fuel producing and importing companies in the country.
  2. In the case of Turbo A-1, fuel that is supplied to airlines, PETROPERÚ has a share of only 23% (3 thousand barrels per day) in the national market. The remaining 77% corresponds to other producing and importing companies, as can be seen in the following graph:

  3. In relation to the supply of aviation fuel in Lima and Callao (Jorge Chávez Airport), PETROPERÚ only covers 19% of the demand (2.5 thousand barrels per day), with the rest of the market (81%) covered by other importing companies and fuel producers.
  4. However, as has been mentioned, given the impact of fuel unloading operations at the national level due to port closures, PETROPERÚ develops strategies to guarantee supply to its customers. In the particular case of Aviation fuel (Turbo A-1), the following actions are being carried out:
  5. In the Talara Refinery there are 118 thousand barrels of Turbo A-1. The port is closed from 05.07.2022 and is due to open on 19.07.2022. Priority has been given to the entry of the Chira Ship, which will load 60,000 barrels of Turbo A-1 for Callao, arriving on 07.23.2022. Its availability will be effective from 07.27.2022, given the need for product rest and certification.
    • Land transfers from the Talara Refinery to the Tarapoto and Chiclayo Airports.
    • Larger shipments of Aviation fuel at the Iquitos and Tarapoto Airports, airports that have Turbo A-1.
    • Increase in the production of Turbo A-1 at the Iquitos Refinery, for supply to the Iquitos Airport.
    • Import, already contracted by PETROPERÚ, of 200 thousand barrels of Turbo A-1, whose estimated arrival in Callao is on 07.23.2022. Its availability will be effective from 07.27.2022, given the need for product rest and certification.
  6. PETROPERÚ has informed its customers in the aviation sector of the temporary supply conditions, so that they can plan their operations in these circumstances.
