Petroperú safeguards air quality in the area near the Iquitos Refinery

Aware of the importance of safeguarding and preserving air quality, Petroperú has been using the latest technologies in its effort to minimize emissions from its production processes, as is the case of the Iquitos Refinery, where - periodically - environmental monitoring tests are carried out.

On this occasion, the studies showed that the quality of water, air and noise are within current environmental quality standards.

This year, for the first time, environmental monitoring had the participation of a representative of the Centro Arenal native community, Bruno Pizango, who highlighted the work of the state oil company in carrying out this type of measurements that seeks to identify, through the collection , processing and evaluation of basic data, the environmental situation and quality of natural resources.

It should be noted that its presence is part of the commitments assumed with the communities before the Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines of the Loreto Regional Government, with the purpose of reporting - in a transparent manner - on the existing controls and the level of compliance with the parameters. established in current environmental regulations.

On this occasion, Petroperú had the support of the company Analytical Laboratory, specialized in providing comprehensive services for environmental monitoring and testing, diagnosis, hydrobiological testing, among others.

It is necessary to highlight that Iquitos Refinery has approved Environmental Management instruments, which contemplate the development of periodic environmental evaluations, with the purpose of monitoring the environmental quality of the environment in which it operates. Members are periodically trained in solid waste management, air and soil quality monitoring, among other topics.
