PETROPERÚ rules out oil leak at the Bayóvar Terminal

Regarding the information on the presence of traces of hydrocarbons in the bay of Bayóvar, reported by fishermen from the Puerto Rico de Sechura cove (Piura), PETROPERÚ categorically rules out the occurrence of any environmental event or contingency related to the leak of crude oil from oil at its port terminal.

The last crude unloading operations were finished on Friday, July 8, an activity that was carried out with all security measures and without any type of incident, as was reported in a detailed and timely manner to the Captaincy Directorate.

PETROPERÚ works to guarantee the integrity and security in the operation of the Bayóvar Terminal, which is considered strategic for the country's oil activity and basic support for private investments and operations. The terminal has the Port Facility Protection, Special Port Facility, Port Security and Quality Management System certifications, under the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
