PETROPERÚ rewards swimming talents of Talara

More than a dozen athletes participated in the Open Swimming Swimming Competition, called "José Olaya Balandra", organized by the Cultural Development and Youth Management Department of the Provincial Municipality of Talara and under the auspices of PETROPERU.

The day, held in the Las Peñitas resort, in the north cone of the city, awarded first place in the two categories: juveniles (14 to 17 years old) and seniors (18 years and over). The registered competitors had to swim 300 meters in freestyle and demonstrate the best time.

After a hard competition, Carlos Sertzen (who registered a time of 3'56") and James Lozada (who registered a time of 3'25") were recognized, winning the first place in the youth and senior categories, respectively. They were awarded important prizes by PETROPERU.

The municipal authorities agreed to recognize the participation of the state oil company as the main sponsor of this activity, acknowledging the efforts to encourage the population to practice this and other sports disciplines as an option to improve their quality of life.

It should be noted that this sponsorship is part of the actions carried out within the framework of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), in coordination with the local authority.
