Petroperú restarts transport of hydrocarbons through the North Peruvian Pipeline

Petroperú restarted the hydrocarbon transportation service from the Amazon to the northern coast of the country, through the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline (ONP), complying with safety and reliability measures. Pumping activities were carried out in Section II, from Station 5, located in Datem del Marañón, Loreto region, to the Bayóvar Terminal, Sechura province in Piura.

To comply with this service, previous tasks were carried out such as verifying the operating parameters of levels, pressures, temperatures, opening of manual and automatic valves, among others, monitored through the SCADA system from the Control Room installed in the Bayóvar Terminal, the final destination of the oil from the Amazon lots. This system allows to detect and respond immediately to any anomaly in the pipeline. Another task is the development of a sustained preventive maintenance plan, which consists of reinforcing the pipeline, patrolling the right of way, major maintenance of station equipment, strengthening of riverbank defenses, as well as the clearing and cleaning of the reserve area where the pipeline runs.

Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to the country's energy development through the implementation of safe and efficient operational practices.
