Petroperú reports the manipulation of the metallic clamp installed after the attack on the Pipeline

Petroperú regretted the manipulation, by persons unknown, of the bolted metallic clamp that was placed on May 30 to cover the hole made after an attack on the pipeline in Km. 391+483 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), and for this reason calls on the population of the Kusumatak community, Condorcanqui province in the Amazonas region, to allow the entrance of personnel assigned to carry out the containment works in the area.

Faced with the unexplainable reluctance of the population and its authorities to allow the entrance of specialized personnel, a team of Community Relations of Petroperú has been dialoguing with the authorities of Kusumatak in order to warn them of the risks that the community and its environment are being exposed to.

It should be noted that the impediment to access the affected area is an obstruction to the execution of the emergency works, which is against the law and is being reported by the company to the corresponding authorities, along with the manipulation of the control element that had recently been placed there.

With this action, there have been six attacks on the ONP pipeline in the current year, reported at Km. 390+210, 399+861, 400+818, 358+835 and 392+483 (affected a second time with the manipulation of the clamp). In this situation, Petroperú demands the immediate cessation of these attacks which go against the environment and the communities, damaging the integrity of the National Critical Asset and reiterates its request for the authorities to speed up the investigation processes that will allow them to find those responsible for these criminal actions, who must be penalized.
