Petroperú reports on minor LPG leak in Punta Arenas condominium
This afternoon, Friday April 14, a minor leak was detected in a pipeline that supplies Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to the Talara Sales Plant, located in the area adjacent to the vehicle access to the Punta Arenas condominium, in the oil city.
Petroperú reported that, after verifying the occurrence, the action protocols were activated to deal with this type of situation and as a preventive measure, the vehicular access road to the aforementioned condominium was temporarily closed. Likewise, an alternative route was enabled in order not to interrupt the entry and exit of vehicles to the Punta Arenas condominium, while specialized personnel continue working in the area to restore the usual conditions of the site.
Petroperú specified that because it was a minor situation, the evacuation protocol for the personnel of the Talara Refinery or the Punta Arenas Condominium was not activated, as reported through social networks.
The State company also announced that -after controlling the minor leak- it has been carrying out the corresponding operational actions for the control and repair of the pipeline, following strict security protocols.
