Petroperú reports on inspections carried out in Peña Negra and adjacent areas
With regards to the video recently released on social media, which reports on the alleged presence of hydrocarbons in the sea, specifically in the area of Peña Negra, in Talara, Petroperú reports the following:
- On the morning of today, Saturday, January 4, 2025, upon receiving the communication about a presumed oil slick in the indicated area, two vessels were mobilized from the south to the north of Peña Negra to carry out exhaustive inspections both at sea and on the nearby platforms of Lot Z-69, without evidencing the presence of stains or iridescence in the sea.
- The inspections covered areas near the beaches, shallow and deep platforms of Lot Z-69, including platforms R, M, PN12, PA1 (Punto Amarillo), PN4, PN11, DD, PN14, NN, UU, PN5, SS and FF.
- At the writing of this communication, no anomaly or operational incident has been recorded on the platforms or in the flow lines of the operations of Lot Z-69, which could cause the presumed oil spill.
Petroperú reiterates its commitment to environmental protection and transparency in its operations. In this sense, it will continue monitoring the area and keep the public informed of any new developments or incidents.
