PETROPERU reports new attack against the Pipeline

PETROPERU reports and rejects a new attack by third parties against the North Peruvian Pipeline, that has taken place yesterday October 14, 2016, near the “6 de Julio” community, in the district Laguna de Loreto, between the 82 and 83 Kms of Stretch I of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP).

The company activated its contingency plan, deploying its team of specialized technicians, who controlled the crude leak and began the containment works, until these actions were interrupted by the “6 de Julio” community, who demanded the withdrawal of all the workers until the arrival of a PETROPERU negotiation commission.

PETROPERU is in permanent coordination with the authorities, supervising organisms and regulatory organisms involved. Likewise, it is proceeding to file reports with the competent authorities and requests that the institutions and citizenry do not allow themselves to be surprised by those who only seek their own benefit, affecting environment and one of the strategic assets that guarantees the energetic security of the country.
