PETROPERU reports new attack agains the North Peruvian Pipeline

Today, Tuesday, February 27, during the patrolling of Section 1 of the Nor Peruano Pipeline (ONP), an outcrop of crude was identified at Km 20 + 100, located near the community of San Pedro, district of Urarinas, region Loreto

Immediately, the implementation of the Contingency Plan began, sending a specialized team to evaluate the incident and start repairing the damaged part of the pipeline. It should be noted that Section 1 is not currently in operation.

As a first result of these actions, it is confirmed that the outcrop of crude oil is due to a cut in the infrastructure carried out by third parties, which is why the supervisory bodies, the National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office are being informed about the corresponding actions.

It should be noted that the first clearing and early warning plan is being developed in Section 1. It provides employment to the residents of the communities neighboring the Pipeline and also contemplates social responsibility actions to benefit them.

PETROPERU is working to resolve this contingency in the shortest time possible in order to protect the environment and the communities in the area.
