PETROPERU reports an illegal occupation of land in Mollendo Terminal

The company Monte Azul Logística S.A.C. is illegally occupying part of the land of the Mollendo Terminal, owned by PETROPERU, in which they have illegitimately installed a guardhouse and a gate. This fact was verified on September 18 during an inspection visit to the occupied land - located in the Tambo valley, Mollendo district, Islay province, Arequipa region - carried out by personnel from the Infrastructure and Urban Development Management of the Islay Provincial Municipality.

As a result of the inspection, the municipal authority has found flagrant infractions by Monte Azul Logística S.A.C. such as "invading land owned... by the State", "placing obstacles on public roads... that limit or hinder free access without municipal authorization", proceeding to issue preventive notifications giving them a period of five days to make the discharges corresponding without knowing such discharges to date.

This situation began approximately in the second half of July of this year, when it was observed that the aforementioned company had been developing earthworks and other activities in the part adjacent to the Mollendo Terminal, which is why PETROPERU formally requested the Provincial Municipality of Islay to proceed with an inspection visit. The procedures carried out by the municipal authority show the illegal occupation of the land of the Mollendo Terminal.

PETROPERU has initiated the corresponding legal actions against this fact in defense of its legitimate property and invokes the authorities to act quickly in order to recover the occupied land as soon as possible; as well as, sanction those who are responsible for this illegal practice that Monte Azul Logística S.A.C. has been carrying out.
