PETROPERU repairs damage on the Peruvian Oil Pipelines caused by ground displacement
PETROPERU informs to the public that on January 25 of the present year, an spilt of crude oil in the are of Villa Hermosa - Chiriaco community, province of Imaza, in the Amazonas region, at the 441 KM of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline has been detected.
This incident had been a consequence of ground displacement because of its steep slope area, humidity and its tendency to retain rain water that only generates significant erratic earth movements.
Immediately , PETROPERU started on its Contingency Plan to control the spilt by gathering qualified and technical expertise workers, equipments and machinery to repair the damage and to restore the affected area. Hydrocarbon hasn't affected any near river or any water duct of the area, being totally confined.
This incident has been informed to the supervising offices (Supervisory Organism of Investment in Energy and Mines (OSINERGMIN) and Organism of Environmental Control and Evaluation) as well as the local authorities.
PETROPERU ratifies its compromise with the preservation of the environment and is working a 24 hour shift to repair and restore the incident in a short time period.
