PETROPERÚ rejects claims of mass and arbitrarian layoffs
PETROPERÚ expressed its resounding rejection of the statements made by a group of former workers who have been misinforming public opinion, pointing out that a campaign of massive layoffs, non-compliance with labor rights and alleged acts of corruption within the state company is underway.
In this regard, the General Manager of PETROPERÚ, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, specified that these complaints are false and have been propagated by a group of former workers who were fired for committing serious misconduct constituted by the misuse of travel expenses, breaking ethical principles and generating detriment to his co-workers and to the Company, as has been duly reported.
In this sense, he reiterated that the dismissals for serious misconduct do not correspond to a policy of massive or arbitrary dismissals, on the contrary, they are due to the permanent fight against corruption. Likewise, he reported that the legal proceedings initiated by the former workers to challenge their dismissals and achieve reinstatement have been dismissed by the Judicial Power, which on the contrary confirms that the disciplinary sanctions imposed by PETROPERÚ are legal.
He also reported that, as part of the organizational reorganization, there have been, by agreement of the parties, dismissals through agreements of mutual dissent, a modality that is contemplated in the current labor legal order.
In this way, PETROPERÚ ratifies its commitment to transparency and strict respect for the labor rights of its workers, as well as to the eradication of irregular acts and labor absences, in line with its Integrity Policy and the State's guidelines to eradicate corruption.
