PETROPERÚ reiterates that it has no tax debt with the Provincial Municipality of Talara

PETROPERU addresses the public opinion to report the following:

1. PETROPERU complies strictly with its tax obligations. As a state company, its commitment is to contribute to the country through taxes and tariffs generated by its operations. Furthermore, the Company is the main contributor to the hydrocarbon sector and is among the main contributors to Peru.
2. To date, PETROPERU has no pending tax debt for the Property Tax or Municipal Excise Taxes with the Provincial Municipality of Talara. For the validation of the Predial Tax determination, the Company hired an external consultant and invited the Provincial Municipality of Talara to the inspection actions, for the sake of transparency and good will to comply with the law and established procedures, for the benefit of all.
3. Likewise, PETROPERU complied with presenting the Sworn Declaration of Property Tax 2018 within the legal term and has been making the payments on a quarterly basis. To date, there is no tax pending for the first two quarters of this year.
4. The Municipality of Talara has sent administrative collection acts for alleged tax omissions of the Property Tax of the current year, of which PETROPERU has become aware and which will be resolved in accordance with the procedures established in the current regulations.
5. We reiterate that the Company has always been and is willing to dialogue and reconcile any differences with the commune of La Talareña. It also maintains its best disposition to support it in everything that is within its reach, within the framework of the law, as well as our Talarean neighbors.
6. Proof of this is that, in previous opportunities, PETROPERU has made the annual advance payment of its municipal tax obligations and develops important programs of social responsibility in Talara, destined to foment tourism, to support the improvement of the decoration and the disposal of solid waste in the city; In addition, it carries out activities to support health, education and local culture, as well as the promotion of productive capacities in the province.
