PETROPERU reiterates its commitment to efficient management of its assets and projects nationwide

The President of the Board of Directors of PETROPERU, Eduardo Guevara Dodds, assured during his presentation before the Audit and Control Commission of the Congress of the Republic, that the company has set itself the objective of strengthening and modernizing its management by implementing a new vision that allows it to be recognized for bringing benefits to the country.

In this sense, he pointed out that PETROPERU has fulfilled its mission of guaranteeing the supply of fuels throughout the national territory, thereby allowing essential services for this period of emergency not to stop at any time.

Likewise, he indicated that the company has the primary purpose of managing its assets and projects in the most efficient way possible, which will entail operational and economic development, increasing its value, taking into account joint work with the populations in the surroundings of the operations to promote their sustainable development.

Along these lines, he explained that Good Corporate Governance and the Integrity System have been strengthened through a solid transparency policy. "At PETROPERU we are committed to working with transparency, efficiency and the proper use of resources to meet the objectives set," said Guevara.

Gel purchase

Regarding the case of purchasing alcohol gel in the context of a health emergency, Guevara explained that, as part of the protocols implemented in line with the provisions of the national authorities, the personnel of the company that has been working in person receive biosecurity material, as a preventive measure against COVID-19.

Likewise, it indicated that at the beginning of the State of National Emergency, the purchase of 1,600 liters of alcohol gel was made, in accordance with the PETROPERÚ Procurement and Contracting Regulations. In the market investigation, it was determined that only two companies, given the high demand, had the product, and of these, only Global

Parts & Services E.I.R.L. (Protegel) had sufficient stock to meet the requirement, so the respective purchase order was issued.

However, after the analyzes carried out on said product by an external specialist, it was determined that it did not contain the required percentage of alcohol.

Given the events described, the official reported that legal actions have been initiated so that the competent authorities can apply the corresponding sanctions to the supplier. Likewise, it informed that the internal investigation process is being carried out to establish corrective measures in this regard.

Regarding advertising contracting cases, the Chairman of the PETROPERU Board of Directors pointed out that advertising tools are key given that the company operates in a very competitive market, even so, it maintains its leadership, generating income that promotes its sustainability and development. of the country, being one of the main contributors in the sector. But additionally, he specified that since PETROPERU is not within the framework of FONAFE's competence, and being a company that depends on the resources that it generates in its operations (and not on the public budget), it needs to strengthen that leadership in the market.

Regarding the information related to advertising for Qatar 2022, Guevara clarified that, as part of the company's commercial strategy, on March 5, 2020 (before the COVID-19 situation) the Third Parties Work Order No. 4100009387 was issued to the RPP SAC Group, for the radio broadcasting service within the framework of the Qatar 2022 qualifiers, considering that this entity has national coverage and had the radio broadcasting rights of the Peruvian national team matches in their local capacity .

To date, he clarified that said contract has been terminated by mutual agreement given the national emergency situation against COVID-19.
