PETROPERU recognizes the efforts of the Dakar pilots

PETROPERU recognizes the efforts of the Dakar pilots

The current world champion of watercraft and president of the South American Confederation of the discipline, Anibal Aliaga, and journalist Fernanda Kanno, who became the first Peruvian woman to participate in the Dakar rally, were distinguished by PETROPERU for successfully representing the oil company during the most extreme automotive competition in the world.

They, along with their co-drivers and their technical teams received a public recognition for their outstanding participation in this tough adventure, in which they also lived unforgettable experiences of camaraderie and solidarity that they shared with the fans.

Gustavo Navarro, Commercial Manager of PETROPERU, who gave the awards to competitors for his great performance in this difficult competition, recalled that the company has always been present in the automotive world in the most emblematic sports competitions and in the most remote places of Peru, where it reaches with our high quality fuel.

"We have 65% of the Peruvian market of gasoline and 60% of diesel, the fuels that are put to the test in this type of competition and that is why the pilots and the public trust in our products," he said.

He added that PETROPERU currently has the national fuel leadership with a 50% share and with a distribution chain of 667 affiliated service stations throughout Peru.

Fernanda Kanno thanked the great support she received from PETROPERU throughout the race. "They helped us tell the story of the race with the activations in the service stations that I found along the route, as well as with the communications to know how we were doing and if we were doing well," he said.

For his part, Anibal Aliaga emphasized that all the support provided by the company for the fulfillment of this great challenge was fundamental. "The support of PETROPERU has been very important to carry out this great automotive challenge, I thank all the dedication of the personnel that was always there," he said.

It should be noted that, during the day, both pilots shared with the attendees and gave away autographed advertising material. The cars they drove in the toughest car race in the world were also showcased.
