Petroperú receives an award for early childhood accompaniment program

Petroperú obtained a new award for its projects undertaken for the benefit of the population, in its areas of influence; this time for its Early Childhood Accompaniment Program, carried out in the district of Villa El Salvador (Lima) and the province of Talara (Piura), being awarded the Proactivo 2023 Award in the Hydrocarbons category, for the second consecutive year.

The conference was held at the headquarters of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru, where it was highlighted that this program seeks to contribute to the healthy development of children, intervening from gestation to 12 months of age, promoting a healthy birth and best practices. of care and nutrition, through the use of technology.

The program made it possible to reach more than a thousand families, through multi-channel support that included sending text messages, phone calls, home visits, as well as the delivery of infant care and stimulation kits and medical equipment to the three Allied health centers with which we worked in a coordinated manner.

The intervention allowed Petroperú to bring families in its areas of influence closer to health centers in order to reverse the disconnect between them, as a result of the pandemic, thus contributing to closing the gap in Early Childhood Development indicators.

In this event, Petroperú also obtained third place for its technological application project in the artisanal processing of squid in the province of Ilo, which uses this marine species as raw material for the preparation of nutrient-enriched hamburgers, seeking to obtain a product of very high quality, appreciable for its commercialization.

With the execution of these projects, Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to the neighboring populations of its operations, contributing to their development, within the framework of its Social Management Policy.
