PETROPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to the people of Talara

In a meeting with the new mayor of Talara, Dr. Rosa Elvira Vega, the president of the Board of PETROPERÚ, Luis Eduardo García Rosell, reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and development of this emblematic oil province. The meeting was held today at 10:00 am at the local municipality. The councilmen of the commune were also present and, for the Company, the Corporate Manager of Social Management and Communications, Beatriz Alva Hart, the Manager of Talara Refining, Jorge Alméstar Mauricio and other officials.

The Chairman of the Board expressed his support for the social responsibility projects that the Provincial Municipality prioritizes; showing his unconditional commitment to the needs of the population of Talara. The contribution to these works, said García Rosell, will be financed with the Company's own resources or through the Works for Tax mechanism. Likewise, he reiterated that PETROPERU will continue contributing to the renovation of the streets and avenues of Talara, as it has been doing with the donation of asphalt and the upcoming rehabilitation of Avenue G.

Regarding the hiring of local labor in the PMRT, García Rosell was emphatic in pointing out that contractors and subcontractors will continue to be required to prioritize the hiring of Talara locals in the construction works of this megaproject. It has been verified by the fact that the project has permanently surpassed the 70% quota in the hiring of unskilled labor, established in the Environmental Impact Study (EIA); but also with the hiring of a significant percentage of Talara locals as skilled labor.

On the other hand, a meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, November 23, between the technical teams of the Provincial Municipality and PETROPERU in order to finalize the agreed-upon commitments. In this way, the Company welcomes the valuable contribution of the Talara staff that works in the PMRT and confirms its willingness to contribute decisively to the development and progress of Talara
