Petroperú ratifies its commitments with community authorities of Lot 192
Accompanied by the regional governor of Loreto, Jorge Chávez Silvano, Petroperú officials held an important meeting with leaders of the native communities of the Pastaza river basin, in Lot 192, in the Loreto region, continuing the process of relations with the population from the area.
During the conference, emphasis was placed on the processes for hiring local labor, during the development, exploration and production stage of said lot, which will be operated by the state oil company, for a period of 30 years. They also expressed their willingness to join the company in this important operation and the possibility of providing services that include the provision of food.
It was explained to the native leaders that road maintenance of the roads and access to the deposits is currently being carried out; as well as the rehabilitation of the Andoas camp. Simultaneously, the housing modules are being implemented, among other activities and services.
It should be noted that the pre-operational activities established in the license agreement will be carried out in two stages. The first consists of the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the lot, focused on critical services, while the second will carry out the rehabilitation of the production structure of the deposits.
As is known, in accordance with the License Agreement that will extend until 2053, Petroperú will assume the operation of Lot 192, the same one that has been paralyzed since February 2020, hand in hand with a strategic partner and contemplating a Social Fund for the development of the native communities in the area.
Through this fund, which was created as part of the agreements reached in the Prior Consultation process, the neighboring communities of the Pastaza, Corrientes and Tigre basins will be directly benefited, which will be able to manage their own projects for benefits of its inhabitants, once oil production resumes in this important lot.
