PETROPERU publishes list of participating words for the 2016 Copé Award
Over 1460 participants of the XIX Story Biennial and V Essay Biennial “Premio Copé 2016”, turn this literary event –organized by PETROPERU since 1979– one of the ones that has the greatest number of participants at a national level, in an unprecedented occurrence in the history of Peruvian literature.
This important participation reaffirms that the Copé Awards are the best known and most constant ones in our country, both for the promotion of new writers as for the consolidation of those who are more experienced, not leaving aside, of course, the quality found in the present that works.
The period for presenting works already finished this past Friday, August 12, and following the established schedule, our company is publishing the list of participants, both for story and essay, which can be found in the following links:

The works will be reviewed by the evaluating jury for each category, made up of representatives of the Peruvian Language Academy, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, Ministry of Culture and PETROPERÚ. The decision cannot be appealed and will be made public starting on the fourth week of November 2016. The award ceremony will take place on the second week of December 2016.
The XIX Story Biennial will award 35 thousand soles to the first place, 25 thousand soles to the second place and 15 thousand soles to the third, as well as a Copé trophy for each and the publishing of the winning works, along with the finalist stories, in a single volume under the Ediciones Copé imprint. The winner of the V Essay Biennial will receive 45 thousand soles and the Copé Oro trophy, as well as having his work published.
